Clock Update

I saw this idea somewhere a while ago, and due to the number of questions I keep getting, I thought I'd have this clock enhancement. I don't say anything, it's just there for them to process. Woot! Future time tellers of America.

  1. I have this same clock, but I let the students suffer. I was surprised at how many of my students actually took the trouble to work through all the math problems.

  2. They are funny, right?! No, these aren't the solutions; they're the minutes past 12 ... that many of my students don't own up to not knowing.

  3. This is hilarious! I would have gotten really distracted by this in high school. So fun

  4. Very nifty little teaching tool! I've never seen one of these, but it seems to be a great way to have students ponder over mathematical concepts.

    Thanks for the post!

I saw your clock today, and my mind went crazy! I can see differentiating in my classroom - they could write equations for each time, proportions, etc. Whatever lesson you are doing. And you could divide your groups up and I am sure some groups would come up with very easy questions, while another may come up with some real challenges. Thank you for your post, it has really inspired me!!!

  6. My superintendent actually made one and gave it to me. (It would be nicer if the clock actually worked :() Bill Lombard has his students making these, now your post is re-inspiring me to do this with the kids.
