Summer Slugfest

If I could get a guarantee that I wouldn't blow up enormously and be unhealthy and start to smell, I think I could pass all my days lolling on my huge couch reading, knitting, puzzling, quilting, napping, movie-ing, etc. As it is, I already sit around more than I do during the school year, so I'm having my 3rd annual let's-gain-summer-weight festival. I am lifting weights and doing step, so maybe it's all muscle. Yessssss, muscles that are so big, that my pants are getting snug. As a weight lifter (cough cough), it's hard to find clothes to encompass my muscular thighs.

Okay, off to do step and get one "step" closer to a beach body. But, as my friend reminds me, there are all sorts of beach bodies.

As a teacher in Kansas... we're not too bad on dress code violations. Still though, we get girls showing midriffs or wearing stuff that's too low cut. ... Point being, in addition to there being a lot of different kinds of beach bodies... there are also way too many beach bodies that are willing to show themselves away from the beach.

At any rate, best of luck at the beach... or the couch.

I know what you mean about the trend to expose lots of skin. Cleavage, midriffs, underwear styles. More than I want to look at at school. Sheesh. I'll keep my koozie-encased six-pack under a shirt, even if I lose the koozie.

It's like reading a post from myself. Your hobbies mirror mine exactly (down to the sitting on the couch and watching my thighs expand). However, I have finished several unfinished scarves and quilts and I have finished the daily crossword puzzle everyday. I guess something had to give...just wish it wasn't the thighs.

Whew! I'm not alone. Hopefully, you've started some more fun projects to keep your thighs company. I'm trying to get a quilt done for a wedding and some washrags done for gifts among other things. And the crosswords are good brain exercise anyway, so it's not like you're just doing them for fun, right (ahem).
