Circle Equation Exploration on GeoGebra

Tomorrow my students will learn how to graph circles on the coordinate plane. I was JUST about to do my usual "lecture/Socratic-questions/practice approach" when I stopped myself short and remembered GeoGebra. That was a close one. I haven't tested it out yet, but here's the first draft:

  1. Just wanted to say THANK YOU for sharing this activity. I used it with a class of 9th grade "Honors" Geometry students this week and I really think it worked wonderfully. I'm anxious to see if it makes a difference in how much they remember vs. the way I had them explore to find the formula before.

    THANK YOU!!!

  2. Yay! Thanks for sharing. I did use it with 5 classes. My 10th graders needed more hand-holding, but they got it. My 8th and 9th graders whizzed through it much faster and had time to have fun on GeoGebra.
