Idea for Tomorrow's HWK...

I'm still batting around the idea, but I created this comic as an example for my geometry students. They were having difficulty applying theorems and parsing out what goes where in proofs. We'll do a whole class-worth of activities in a variety of ways to drive things home, but I thought their homework could be to create something like this that "uses" one of the theorems they've "learned".

  1. Have you tried ComicLife software? Very fun and easy. Not that there's anything wrong with your hand-drawn comics...

  2. Thanks for the tip. I'd never heard of ComicLife. Maybe I can incorporate it for other activities.

My story, and I'm sticking to it, is that I want mine purposely "2nd rate", so that it frees up the kids from feeling they can't do it. Yessssss, that's it :).

  3. Welp, the "second rate" argument does make sense. It lets a person focus on the meaning. THese are amazingly amusing ;)

  4. Dear Shireen, I am a bilingual math teacher from Germany and I would love to get your point. But I can't see this picture properly. Is there a possibility to hand me a better version of the picture? It would be a pleasure.

Hi Bill. I taught this three years ago, and unfortunately do not still have the cartoon.
