How to make a nice graph for tests and such

Someone requested a tutorial for making a usable graph for your worksheets, so here it is. (okay, the person nicely agreed to a tutorial after I was pushy and suggested one). Here's the 3 page download of my instructions.

And here's what it looks like:

I have trouble opening your files by hitting the link. I can save the image you post (thank you thank you, and I do) but I cannot open the file through the link to box.net. I have the same problem with exponential curve.

Have you heard of this issue before? I am sure it is a setting on my part.

  2. Have you tried graphsketch.com? You can set the dimensions to whatever you want, then press Plot. I just use the Print Screen button to copy and paste it onto a Word document.

  3. Hi Ricochet,

Hmmm, maybe our versions of "word" are different? I just tried to download a file, and it worked. Anyway, you could try to send me e-mail (math_mambo@yahoo.com), and I could attach the file for you. Don't know if that would be better.

Mrs. A: hmmmm graphsketch.com? No, I haven't heard of it. I'll go try it right now, and thanks for the tip.

  4. Thank you for the tutorial; I'll be sharing it with my colleagues at school. I know I will use these constructions a lot. I have tried working with graphsketch.com, following a suggestion I read elsewhere, but have problems with that. Probably because I'm working with my mac at home. I will have to give it a try with the Dell at school.

  5. Ed, You're more than welcome. What I like about it, is that I can alter the scale on the axes, and I can move the axes around, so they're not necessarily in the middle, AND it's really easy to place anywhere in a document.

Thanks again, for the tutorial. I am having some difficulty with it, and I think it has to do with various versions of Word. My computer at school has a 2002 or 2003 version which doesn't even have some of the tools you reference. And my Mac version (2008) works differently and it will take some time to work out those differences. In the meantime, I have made a grid on the Mac that I can use. i just have to ink in the axes with a Sharpie before heading to the copier. This is one of many projects to work at through the summer.

  7. Ed,

I too have the 2003 version of Word. Which tools are you having trouble with?
